Path outside of pull in for old Cemetery on Washingborough road
Reported via mobile in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 14:49, Wednesday 11 September 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2817637.
I live in New Cemetery Lodge on Washingborough Road. I have been disabled and housebound for a few years until I bought a mobility scooter two weeks ago. From my house to the next Cemetery on the s bend on Washingborough Road there are dropped kerbs. Outside the old Cemetery pull in there are no dropped curbs. The curbs are high. I tried to navigate them but my mobility scooter tipped sideways tipping me into the road into the path of an on coming car. Thankfully they managed to swerve around me and stop to help myself and scooter up. I cannot go on the roads as I am severely sight impaired but had to on this occasion to get home. I manage on the path at 1 mile per hour as I can use my white cane in front. I was trying to get to the South Common where there are dropped curbs and crossings at the corner. I assumed the area where the paths are divided by the road into the Cemetery would also have them as our house and the next house down have them. I am currently only able to go around the Cemetery I live in. I am writing to enquire whether dropped curbs could be put in on both paths please. The bend in this road is extremely dangerous with a great many accidents. I don't wish to add to them. There are other mobility scooter users that use thus road. I am sure it would also be safer for them to be able to use the path. The path itself is in shocking condition and is on need of a lot of repair anyway as in resurfacing as its more hole and than path. I really would be extremely grateful as I would get some resemblance of life back.
