Outside 2 Foundry Court, Foundry Road, Stamford, PE9 2PY

Reported via mobile in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category anonymously at 18:29, Sunday 15 September 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2817912.

The pavement has worn away and there are now raised trip hazards (drain/water covers etc). In addition, the pavement has subsided and there us a dangerous camber from the pavement running to the road. As an elderly person, the tilt is enough to cause me to topple me towards the road, outside my door. It has been caused by cars riding the pavement to pass each other, due to cars parked on the other side if the road.

  • I note your findings however I would point out that an old lady did actually topple into the road recently from outside my door. This is because traffic rides this pathway to avoid oncoming traffic. Over the years, this has created a camber on the pavement, towards the road, and it is now unsafe for elderly people. I assume that the Highways Dept will take full responsibility if another elderly person were to topple from this uneven pavement, into the road, potentially into oncoming traffic, on a road which has become a high speed 'rat-run' between two major roads in Stamford? I personally think that it could be considered negligence IF such an incident were to occur, having previously been reported and dismissed.
