There has been activity in the past to try and solve the problem of flooding, unfortunately nothing seems to have achieved the issue. Every time we have a heavy downpour are we flooded this is not only affecting the road but 3 properties as well. A disabled person living here is unable to access the road when this happens, along with the other three properties. Motorists using this stretch of road cause tidal waves over walls whilst moving through the water. There obviously is still a serious problem along this stretch of road and requires urgent attention before a serious accident occurs or damage is caused to properties.

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

Here we are again 1st January 2025 and still the issue of flooding in Park Road, Long Sutton has not improved. We have not seen the delivery gang which was reported to be tasked with the job in September 2024. This morning the water is completely across the road again, affecting my neighbour who is in a wheelchair and is unable to leave her property and my other elderly neighbour also is stuck. There also is the problem of traffic going through deep water, as reported before it’s a concern for an accident waiting to happen. Is there ever going to be a fix for this issue which has been ongoing for years. Maybe another promise of a gang being sent out to sort it!! Let’s see what 2025 brings.
