A16/B1040 crossroads near Crowland
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2818891.
This report relates to the lighgting of the A16/B1040 junction and not to a specific light.
Yesterday evening at 7pm it was very dark and very wet. I noticed that some 25% of the lights at the junction were out, including most of the group on the SE edge of the A16 carriageway where it approaches the junction.
The lighting of this junction is provided purely for safety purposes, and in the circumstances of yesterday it is quite inappropriate for such a large proportion of the lighting to be out.
I do not know what is the accepted standard of failure for rural safety installations of this type, but in my view as a motorist it should never exceed 5%. I consider therefore that the lighting at the site requires urgent restoration to the planned standard of provision.
