Main Road, Willoughby outside Willholme

Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 16:27, Fri 27 September 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2819041.

This drain grill has been blocked for more than two years. Despite various reports it remains unblocked. Flooding after heavy rain affects pedestrians. I was recently notified that it would be added to cyclical drain cleaning list. A drain cleaning wagon was in operation on Wednesday 18 September on Station Rd, Willoughby as far the junction with Main Road but then left at approx 20.00hrs and has not returned to complete the work in Willoughby. Church Lane and Bonthorpe Rd are also affected by apparent black of attention.

  • Re Council ref: 2819041. I inserted a rod to check blockage and found that entire drain is blocked to depth of some 74 CMS. It seems likely that the blocked drain at corner of Church Lane/Bonthorpe Road is blocked to similar depth (ref: 2816268). Each drain my belly blocked further along from the grill causing localised standing water. Thorough inspection and clearance required please. Many thanks.

  • Hi. This problem has still not been fixed. Although operatives have visited Willoughby to inspect and work on other drains this matter appears to gone unresolved. The drain must work as there is no flooding but this grill is jammed solid with muck. It is now some 8 months since I reported the matter together with photos to illustrate the location and issue. Hopefully this time the matter will be dealt with. Thank you.
