  • I have been suffering this flooding for over 25 years now and despite numerous meetings over that period, nothing has been done to solve the problem. Rowan Smith is only too well aware of this long standing problem, but other than jetting a drain that goes nowhere, several times, we are no closer to a solution. Every year myself and my neighbours are fobbed off with promises that a solution will be put in place

  • We're sending you this message to let you know that we've assessed the drainage condition and we have identified this location for a larger scale improvement scheme. At this stage we are unable to give specific dates for this or definitely commit to the scheme because we prioritise these schemes based on condition compared with the rest of the County network and the resources available to us each year. We will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspections of the highway in the meantime. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action

  • This is laughable. So I am expected to accept platitudes yet again? Do I have to point out yet that this situation has been ongoing for the 25 years and despite my property regularly being flooded you still propose doing nothing again? I have spend a considerable amount of money in an attempt to ameliorate the situation, but your inability to solve what is basically a simple problem is now beyond a joke. Please expect to be hearing from my solicitor with a claim for property damage and stress.
