The drain next to the telegraph pole on corner of PROSPECT PLACE & SERPENTINE STREET
Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 18:12, Tuesday 1 October 2024
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2819501.
During periods of heavy and/or continuous rain, the drain located outside of Prospect House on Prospect Place (see photo) persistently overflows which creates a large puddle sometimes covering width of the street. This has been reported previously and was closed as the drain was apparently being cleaned, that was in July 2024, this clearly hasn’t been done and drain is still overflowing. This has been an issue for at least a year. This issue creates lots of standing water and risks water damage to both cars and houses and the increased risk of flooding.

We are sorry, we are not taking any action on this enquiry. From an officers inspection after persistent rainfall lasting nearly two days, there is only a minor, shallow collection of water in localised areas along this carriageway. The road surface is uneven along the full length and minor puddling can be seen. As this is causing no internal property flooding and no serious highway risk, no action will be taken. Thank you for reporting this matter.
