Blocked drain upstream of the bridge

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 12:27, Wed 6 November 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2822723.

As the drain is blocked the water runs under the bridge causing flooding. Cars and trucks then cause hydraulic pressure on the road surface and another pothole develops under the bridge.

  • Yet again this same location is like Swiss cheese!! Holding water from the drains, it then gets under the patchwork quilt you call repairs! When are you actually do a permanent proper repair. It’s now that bad again that vehicles are having to come to a standstill and drive along the middle of the road. If a car comes from the direction of barkston at normal speed limits there is a huge risk of an accident. PLEASE FIX THIS PROPERLY!! I will be reporting this grave accident concern to my local MP.

  • Drove through this again today, while some of the water has drained and the holes have had a bit of cold tarmac thrown in! Only been a week and they already opening up and will be back to a vehicle damaging situation very soon. Sort it out properly once and for all. I’ll add all the pics onto the Member of parliament chase email. See if they think this is best use of funds time and time again!

  • Drain blocked again

Posted anonymously at 17:26, Monday 17 February 2025

  • Dangerous situation with cars having to drive in the centre of the tunnel. Recent road repairs are clearly insufficient to resolve this. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve reported this. It’s very obvious this area needs draining and then the road surface repairing correctly. I would suggest an experienced engineer carries out a survey before a serious accident occurs!!

  • There is a very large pothole underneath the main railway line which is obscured by water from the blocked drain. I am aware of this so I approach this area with care the road surface and pothole are degrading rapidly. This is potentially hazardous for people unfamiliar with the part of the road and it's poor road surface. Previously this has been repaired however these repairs have now failed leaving the deepening pothole and debris on the road surface.
