Road edges breaking away

Reported via iOS in the Damaged road edge, encroaches more than 100mm category anonymously at 23:03, Tuesday 26 November 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2824600.

The road edges are starting to break / crumble away in places already just 3-4 months after the road was done. Chipping should NOT have been put down, too much traffic uses this lane for the poor layers that was put on top of this road. Cars, vans, lorries as well as wheeled and tracked farm machinery come down this lane and the extra road plainings and few layers of chippings isn’t holding up. Tarmac should’ve been used, just like you did the Stickford village road leading towards peach wood cars.

  • Just some more photos of the edges crumbling away already. Still say tarmac should’ve been used!

  • Road really isn’t holding up well for the amount of tractors which come down here at all! Cracking and crumbling away let alone how bumpy it is!

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because this site is scheduled to be monitored consistently throughout the winter season to ensure its condition remains stable. The observed damage along the edge has not compromised the structural integrity of the carriageway. The issue is confined to overspray associated with this type of surface treatment. Additionally, the site will have time to settle further over this period, and another sweep is still due to be carried out. Continued observation will allow us to address any potential concerns proactively as they arise. Thank you for reporting this matter.
