  • I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding the recent closure of North Kelsby Road near Caistor Graveyard by a private builder who has a private building site there . This closure was implemented without any prior notice to the public, which has caused significant inconvenience to residents, commuters and local businesses. As a member of the community, I find this lack of communication unacceptable and potentially hazardous. Road closures require appropriate advance notice to ensure alternative arrangements can be made and to avoid disruptions. Furthermore, such actions should align with local regulations and be communicated effectively to all affected parties. I request that the council investigate this matter promptly and take appropriate action to ensure compliance with notification and planning procedures. Additionally, please clarify the guidelines that apply to such closures and any penalties for non-compliance. It would also be helpful if steps could be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future, ensuring better coordination and transparency. I have experienced significant inconvenience on two occasions—once in the morning while dropping my children off at school, and again in the evening. I have attached photos of both incidents for your reference. While I am unsure if the road was blocked throughout the entire day, these pictures clearly document the disruptions I faced during these times. Even before this incident, the community has raised concerns about the site due to heavy machinery being parked on the main road and deliveries occurring during peak traffic hours. These activities obstruct the walkways, forcing children and other pedestrians to use the road, which creates significant safety hazards. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
