I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a safety concern I have regarding the cycle path on Ferry Lane cycle path. As an avoid walker, I often use this path, especially during the darker months, and I found it somewhat dauting and challenging to navigate the area safely. The section near the footbridge opposite the house can become quite congested, especially when cyclist approach from both the sugar factory area and the town. Unfortunately, many cyclists do not signal their intentions, which increases the risk of collision with pedestrians. The current lack of street lighting in this area only adds to the difficulty of seeing and being seen, heightening the danger. Given these concerns, I would like to suggest installation of a second streetlight at this junction this additional lighting would significantly improve visibility for both pedestrians and cyclists, thereby reducing the risk of accidents. It would also benefit local visitors who walk to the shops, socializing at the village pubs, or visit the moored barges all would benefit from extra lighting in this area. I would be grateful if you could consider this request and let me know if any plans are in place to address this issue in this area. Please be advised that only visiting this area at night would give you a better perspective of the problem and possible location near the signpost facing the foot path. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Kind regards M. Charlton
