The garage forecourt canopy rainwater run off causes black ice to form in freezing conditions and stretch the full width of the pavement making it treacherous for pedestrians . The forecourt canopy rainwater run off either needs re- locating or properly connecting to the surface water drain via an underground pipe. Furthermore, persistently using the pavement area in front of the blue double doors as a loading / goods received area completely blocks the pavement and forces people in mobility scooters, or with pushchairs , wheelchairs etc onto the busy road. The same area is also used by locals who park there out of hours in order to use the nearby cash machine and shop in the Co-Op which again blocks the pavement - there are no signs, markings or barriers of any kind to prevent locals from doing this and there have been several near misses where cars have had to perform an emergency stop when a mobility scooter user has been forced into the roadway. The garage owners also use this pavement area as a goods inwards/ loading area eg Dec19th there was a large van blocking the pavement that was collecting used tyres for recycling and the proprietor Paul Marwood was helping load the van. The pavement was completely blocked. The owners need a dedicated Good Received area forming at the side of their main office so as not to endanger members of the public trying to use the pavement and before someone gets seriously injured as a result of this mal practice. A removal drop down barrier or a chain link barrier along with yellow hatching and warning signs need erecting in order to stop people parking and blocking the pavement out of normal working hours, currently there is nothing to prevent this dangerous practice.

Hello, The first two photos were taken this morning at approx 9am and show the proprietor of the Garage ( Steven Marwood ) sitting in the van which is completely blocking the pavement to all users . I understand that the garage needs access / egress to it's workshop via the blue double doors but this should be marshalled easily and cause no problem, but this is not what they are doing. By completely blocking the pavement they are potentially causing danger of severe injury or death to pedestrians. The proprietor has taken over this area as an extension to his workshop and is frequently using it now ( because they are so busy ) to carry out minor service work and are treating it as a workshop bay extension. They can regularly be seen under the bonnet of a vehicle in this area and indeed their tyre air pump is situated there for pumping up customers tyres. Someone is going to get very badly injured if this practice is not stopped. The third photo is of someone carrying out their weekly shop in the Co-Op as when the garage is closed the locals also use the same area as a very convenient parking bay which also blocks the pavement to all users and forces all pushchairs and disability scooters into the busy roadway - this particular photo was taken New Years Day when the garage was shut. Could you provide me with an update on my original complaint please, ref 2827444

Photo taken approx 10am this morning shows the pavement totally blocked yet again by another random van which is forcing all mobility scooter users and people with pushchairs out into the main roadway in order to get past. I cannot see how difficult it can be to issue a notice to the garage proprietors to stop this dangerous practice of parking vehicles in front of their workshop doors especially as it is the garage owners themselves who insist on using the pedestrian pathway as a work area in which to carry out minor routine servicing on cars and vans ( blowing up tyres, filling washer/windscreen bottles, check customers oil levels, light bulbs etc ) which is directly responsible for putting pedestrians in peril .
