Junction at Whaplode Manor

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category anonymously at 05:26, Wed 25 December 2024

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 2827577.

This junction is incredibly dangerous and needs more sign posting or red road markings to indicate there is a junction when turning right down Washway Road into Whaplode Manor from the A17 (South). There was an accident on 23/12/2024 (the second in less than two months and around the 5th accident this year) as cars travel 60 miles an hour around the bend on the A17 and do not see the stationary car waiting to turn into Whaplode Manor (same with lorries traveling at high speed unable to stop in time).

It is a busy junction with lots of farm traffic alongside residents and hotel guests using this junction on a daily basis.

Every other junction along the A17 has either a separate lane or red road markings on the approach to indicate no overtaking/junction ahead to encourage drivers to slow down. More signage is needed before someone is unfortunately killed.
