A52 between Sleaford & Grantham at the junction of Newton
Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 16:49, Mon 6 January 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2828872.
After last night’s rain, the road has once again been left with extreme flooding. This also affects the grass verges outside our property and there is a lot of residual waste left floating from the dykes either side of the road. In the past the water slowly subsides within 48 hours. What can be done before a serious accident occurs as much of the traffic does not slow down adequately to the conditions.

We have experienced a large amount of rainfall in a short period of time. We are prioritising reports where the flooding poses a risk to life or a significant risk of internal flooding.
In times of extremely heavy rain drains can become overwhelmed and at the moment roadside drains may not be able to drain away due to watercourses being full and backing up.
When the situation has returned to normal we will re-assess your report and may re-open it if necessary.
If the problem becomes significantly worse during this incident please contact us again.
