Flooded and ice, not a great combination! Water flooded the road from where the 2 new houses have been built, never happened before they were built, some for of drainage needs to be installed to prevent future incidents.

Stewton Lane has no Lincolnshire County Council drainage assets between the junction with Hawker Close until it terminates at the B1200. Instead, surface water runs off into the watercourse that runs parallel to it, which has reached capacity and now flooded. There is no remedial action that Lincolnshire County Council Highways can take and the road must remain closed until water levels return to normal. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: No further action

I realise you have a lot of flood reports atm but I fear this will not go away as the new build drive end has created a hollow with no drain in it so this will flood every time it rains - thank you

I'm not sure what LCC are not understanding about this issue, ie that there is no drainage installed so the water has no where to go. In this area the watercourse does NOT run parallel to Stewton Lane, which would be easy to see if anyone had visited to have a look!! The problem has been caused by the building of 2 new houses with solid driveways and the surface water now drains onto Stewton Lane everything it rains. Some form of drainage needs installing at this location otherwise it will flood everything it rains. Perhaps LCC staff need to leave their office and actually go out for a look at the issue!
