Reported via mobile in the Wheel tracks or ruts category anonymously at 14:51, Tue 7 January 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2829071.

Due to the narrow width of North street in Caistor. Cars are allowed to park which partially blocks the road. Cars and in particular lorries cannot pass on the tarmac and as a consequence ride up the grass banking. This creates an ugly scene in an otherwise pretty town. There is also concern that ambulance and fire engine vehicles would have trouble attending emergency incidents. This problem has been reported before and cleaned up by residents but it is a lost cause unless restrictions are considered such as double yellow lines are installed in the narrow sections of the road.

  • 1st March 2025 Regarding your officer not witnessing cars parked when he visited. The attached picture shows 2 cars that regularly park in this narrow section of road for a good part of the day and all through the night as the owners are staying in the local property. It is obvious it causes a problem for passing traffic exhibited by the damage to the two grass banks opposite the cars. A fire engine came up the street earlier this week attending an emergency with it's blue lights flashing. Fortunately the cars were not present at that time, but would have been a real issue if they were. Even cars are having to drive up the grass banks let alone lorry's The grass bank to number 83 has been cutaway to tidy up the street / picture but it can be seen in the photo the cut back from the tarmac that was needed. A simple cheap solution would be to install double yellow lines to restrict parking on the street where two cars cannot pass safely. Regards Roger Clarke 07523742522
