Butts Lane by Pond Cottage
Reported via mobile in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 18:40, Wed 8 January 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2829309.
Water runoff from field running onto road. Traffic then sprays/pushes the water over the camber and onto property. Despite significant works earlier this year the flooding is still occurring. Ditches upstream of this issue not been cleared and pipe under farm track still not been cleared/maintained. Therefore, water still getting onto the road.

We have experienced a large amount of rainfall in a short period of time. We are prioritising reports where the flooding poses a risk to life or a significant risk of internal flooding.
In times of extremely heavy rain drains can become overwhelmed and at the moment roadside drains may not be able to drain away due to watercourses being full and backing up.
When the situation has returned to normal we will re-assess your report and may re-open it if necessary.
If the problem becomes significantly worse during this incident please contact us again.

The recent heavy rain has again highlighted this issue. Whilst the road did not flood, further inspection showed that the culverts that allow the road to be clear of water are blocked, the ditches that the culverts flow into are over grown, and the pond that the ditches flow into is over grown. Until a new road is built, this road effectively acts as the southwest ring road for Lincoln and should be maintained as such.
