The public footpath leading away from Millthorpe lane along Pethley Lane. 52.86718 degrees North, 0.35504 degrees west

Reported via desktop in the Surface issue category anonymously at 10:32, Saturday 11 January 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2829690.

Having parked on the verge by a large metal gate on Millthorpe lane I walked up Pethley lane. On the right were large mounds of manure set back but then half way down I came across an enormous mound right by the side of the footpath. The right of way itself was contaminated by large pools of black liquid that have leached from the manure. In the summer the smell and flies stop you walking here alone but whenever there is any amount of rain the entire path is blocked by disgusting black puddles. This is a serious health hazard to dogs and walkers and discourages anyone enjoying this walk. I had found the path like this in the past and had stopped walking here so was dismayed to find it still just as bad, if not worse. Further on there seems to be a large number of abandoned trailers too.
