Public right of way passing in front of Ferry Farm.
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2830383.
While undertaking a walk last year from South Kyme to Anwick along path that follows the River Slea from South Kyme to Ferry Bridge and then crosses Ferry bridge and the path (according to OS 2021) should continue along the north side of the Slea. The public foot path that should pass in front of Ferry Farm and then continue along the route NKym/3/1. At the road side there are no way markers present either at the river side nor at any other point associated with Ferry Farm. Additionally the route is blocked at the other side by a fence. If I had started my walk at Anwick, I would have faced a 4 km walk back to my vehicle, at least starting at South Kyme church, it was only a couple of km's before I had to abandon my plans. Has the land owner legally had this right of way blocked or have they undertaken this obstruction without permission? If it has been completed without permission, what recourse is available to have the land owner reinstate this right of way?

I am not involved in the original submission. However I noted the same issue today 20 January 2025. I had to proceed on the other bank of the river.

I have seen this reported over the years. You used to be able to get past. Looking at the LCC Public Right of Way map, the path ends just before Ferry Farm, and does not connect with the road. However looking at the old maps, this used to be a Towing Path (a path beside a river used as a pathway for horses towing barges). Surely that would have connected with the road at the Toll Gate. I don't know if a towing path is classified as a public right of way. I'm following with interest.

I originally raised this issue in January. Has this apparent blocking of the right of way been investigated? I've seen no updates here.

I raised this issue back in January 2025, however the only responses to the escalation have been from other members of the public, and there has never been any formal response from Lincolnshire county council. Is there anybody actually reviewing this case?
