Opposite number 1 Bells Court

Reported via desktop in the Street light category anonymously at 19:14, Wednesday 5 February 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2833416.

The street light is not working. This light is on the map of street lights so is the responsibility of LCC or NKDC to maintain - is it not privately maintained or anything to do with the Parish Council. This has been a problem since December 2024 so an early fix would be appreciated.

  • We apologise for the initial error in passing the lighting to North Kesteven and the Parish. However, after further investigation it has been determined that these lights are privately owned.

As you have stated, these lights are visible on our mapping system. However, this does not imply ownership by Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) or North Kesteven District Council (NKDC). Our inventory holds records of S38 and private lights to indicate ownership and help redirect queries like this. This is not an acceptance of ownership; the lights belong to their respective owners.

Specifically, these lights have been labelled as private lighting. This is supported by the fact that the street in question has also not been adopted by LCC. We have notes indicating that these lights are still owned and maintained by the developer, Mr. E. Penrose.

We recommend contacting Mr. Penrose to arrange repairs or, as previously suggested, conducting a Land Registry Search.

Thank you for reporting this matter.
