Roman Bank Gedney Dyke

Reported via desktop in the Mud on the road category anonymously at 11:59, Thursday 13 March 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2838178.

All the way along Roman Bank. Naylors farms have been lifting cabbages around engine dyke and roman bank which was the initial cause of the mud. However the SHDC roadsweepers has been along today and made the matter worse by now throwing it over the pavements and causing more mud to be churned up onto the road. What a shoddy service we pay our rates for!

  • South Holland District Council are responsible for routine cleansing of the highway and the farmer is responsible for cleaning up after his operation. Whilst we appreciate your concerns, there does not appear to be an immediate safety issue for us to respond to, however we will monitor this on our routine inspections and remind the farmer of his responsibilities if necessary. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
