Verge and roadway outside Hill View ,Marsh Rd Holbeach Hurn PE128JT and opposite Baileys Lane
Reported via desktop in the Wheel tracks or ruts category anonymously at 18:43, Tuesday 18 March 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2838776.
Agricultural traffic has been mounting the verge and has caused large ruts and raised verge which is allowing water to collect and form standing water. The erosion of the verge has revealed the roadway boundary / kerbstones as per the images , some of which I have further revealed , the design of which is presumably to allow drainage . . Google streetview research shows the kerbstones visible in earlier years and it is believed they extend as far as the Rose & Crown pub and they also feature on the triangular island into Baileys Lane . It is also noted that a reflective bollard featured on the verge prior to Hill View and opposite Baileys Lane , a damaged bollard can be seen as late as 2021. It is clear that from Google images the verge and drainage has not been maintained for a number of years , road sweeper was in the village last week but did not venture as far as this area . We are requesting clearance of the kerbstones/ verge boundary and reinstatement of the reflective bollard

Get a life, all the road edges / verges in the surrounding villages are all in the same condition, despite constant entries in this site but nothing gets done.

We’re sending you this message to let you know that we’ve assessed the road condition and – whilst it has deteriorated it does not yet require further action. If the fault deteriorates significantly then please report this again to us and we will investigate further. The bollard/hazard marker post serves no purpose and should not be used at this location. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: No further action
