Investigating
On the A15 coming from Bourne into Folkingham. Crash barrier needed.
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2840082.
Highway is intrinsically unsafe. Second crash at the exact same site in three years. Drivers speeding round the bend. 30mph location is too late. It needs to be higher up the hill, so approaching the bend, traffic is 30mph. Barriers/bolllards/speed reduction need installing.

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

Thank you for your enquiry. You’ll need an current Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) amending for what you have requested. To request an amendment to a Traffic Regulation Order, please contact your Lincolnshire County Councillor. You are advised to also speak with your Parish council in advance. This will ensure they support the proposal as they will be consulted as part of the legal order process. Looking at recent accident data the cause of two incidents have been the weather (wind) and also wild animals (deer) in the carriageway, not the speed of traffic. Thank you for reporting this matter.

You have got incorrect facts and location of the place I am stating. The lorry was blown over up near the hill, near the water tower. This is also where 2 deer were hit. This is NOT the cause of the 2 crashes I have raised….For 2 cars to have left the WRONG side of the road, within mm of each other, is due to speed and speed only. The 2 cars left the road on the wrong side, as you straighten up, after the bend into Folkingham- both cars hitting the 30mph sign. That is not wind or deer. Please get your facts correct, If someone can contact me I can show pictures showing exact location. I have already raised a TRO with my LCC councillor- no reply after 2 weeks and I have raised with the parish council clerk who has been very kind and helpful. This is incredibly frustrating and not what we pay our taxes for.

1st crash occurred at site on 29th June 2022. (what 3 words location car left the road = nerves.dogs.wing). Note 30mph sign hit and damaged. Note wrong side of the road, AFTER the bend into Folkingham. Not deer or wind here as both sides of the A15 road here, are heavily enclosed by fences and 10ft hedges….. Air ambulance had to take this driver away. Thought was a one off due to speeding.

Exact same location of SECOND car crash on 25th March 2025. Note wrong side of the road again, and exact same 30mph sign hit where car left the wrong side of the road and careened into garden (serious injury /death avoided only by luck). The 2 incidents you mentioned (wind and deer) were near the water tower- photo attached to show you or whoever has advised LCC, are way off in their locations and misunderstanding (when you report this matter is closed and have given the wrong locations and explanations for the 2 crashes I have raised).
