Reported in the Problem at LCC roadworks category anonymously at 14:19, Thu 10 April 2025
Council ref: 4202894.
Road was closed from Chruch Lane, through Sykes Lane to Torksey, callers live on Sykes Lane and were not allowed through by the workers. They think it was pot hole repairs. They were not notified of the closure or that they would not have access.

Thank you for the enquiry, and we apologise you had been caused some inconvenience due to these works. I have looked on the system and on April 10th there were some pothole repairs on Station Road Torksey which, due to the road widths, required a temporary closure for operative safety. Due to these being delivered on a set timescale (as they met our policy intervention levels), it is sometimes not possible to achieve a long lead in time and fully advertise meaning there are occassions such as this where they are required short notice. In these situations access is usually maintained where possible for residents, but it is not possible to achieve this for through traffic. Once again we apologise for any inconvenience, but we do have a duty as highway authority to maintain public safety on the highway, and inevitably that means some disruption to the local network which is unavoidable. Thank you for reporting this matter.
