A16 at Stickford between Peachwood Cars and The Coach House Pub

Reported via desktop in the Illegal advertising category anonymously at 12:55, Thu 24 April 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2842148.

A local business is illegally placing many permanent (up to 20) bright yellow signs advertising sausage sales. Many of these are attached to official highways road signs and are distracting and obscuring. A busy junction is made dangerous by these distracting signs. The whole area looks unsightly and if all local businesses were to do the same, the council signs would not be visible.

  • Not sure why its considered "more complicated". Personal signs are attached to several council highways signs which is not permissable !

  • Problem STILL not resolved. Personal signs STILL fixed to Highways/Council Signage causing a distraction to drivers. Please advise if personal signage is permitted and I will go and attached a dozen or so of my own to the same council signs !!!!!

  • Signs were briefly removed from Council signs but are now REINSTATED onto Highways Signs - this person clearly has total disregard for Council rules. These signs need to be permanently removed as they are distracting from the official council signs.

  • We’re sending you this message to let you know that Sausage Shack signs have been removed. Those remaining are of private farm field way off the Highway. No obstruction or visibility issues upon inspection.

Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • This is incorrect - the signs were removed but have since been put back up on Highways Road Signs in both directions approaching the Hagnaby Lane junction - the owner of The Sausage Shack has used cable ties to attach them to the highways signs, causing a distraction to road users. He is playing a game with the Council by putting his signs back up once you have removed them and left. PLEASE DEAL WITH THIS ACCORDINGLY

  • Up to 10 bright yellow sign in close proximity around the junction of A16/ Fen Road / Hagnaby Lane I see it’s been reported months ago so why are theses distracting personal advertising signs allowed to be attached to highway road signs still. Surely this illegal so why have they been allowed to remain in place.
