Action scheduled
At the top end of Peach Lane Allington, at the junction with Sedgebrook road
Reported via desktop in the Damaged dyke, ditch or culvert category anonymously at 13:57, Thursday 1 May 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2842759.
Peach lane is the only access in or out to Allington gardens, with 200 homes and home to approximately 300 residents, there is a ditch passing under Peach lane as indicated on the map through what appear to be concrete pipes, on both sides of the lane the roadway is showing signs of subsiding in line with the pipes, which appear to be intact but the retaining wall above them appears to be leaning away from the road leading to subsidence of the roadway, if this allowed to get much worse it could lead to complete blockage of Peach lane with consequences for the residents, and access to the waterworks. the pipes also appear to be at least partially blocked with detritis which it is reasonable to believe is partly to blame for the flooding which occurred during the winter. The subsidence to the north of Peach lane has been evident for some time, but to the south it appears to have happened through this winter 2024/2025.

South side of the road, This problem is not going to go away, already vehicles entering and leaving Peach lane are moving into the centre of the road to avoid the serious depression, Photo 1 the hole is a minimum of 8cm deep, it is actually quite a bit deeper as rubbish is collecting in the bottom making it very hard to measure the actual depth, it appears to be 1.6 mt long and wide.
