Still running water in a very dry period. This must be a water leak somewhere? The fact the drain is blocked shows it was not done right previously

I have been watching updates as we also live in Fen Lane. I think one of the things that is sad is that due to silt and water on the road it's now very slimy. I watch carefully where I walk as nearly slipped the other day. Some dog walkers have told me they now avoid this route. A shame as there are some good walks accessed from Fen Lane.

Nothing seems to have been done about this. Just a little rain and the problem is worse than ever. Water pouring out of drain and running down road for 0.1 miles (I measured it). Roads surface is so slimy and muddy it is very dangerous and makes walking safely almost impossible

I note that people do update on this issue which seems to have gone on for years according to various local walkers and neighbours. A few months ago some professionals came out to further investigate where the water was coming from. I suspect when the water table was very low it dried up temporarily. Now after rainy days the lane is flowing as before. So much water just watering the grass verges, problematic if vehicles need to pass on the narrow lane.

Surely this water problem needs sorting out. We are now at the start of the winter season and the amount of foot traffic and horse riding that takes place down this lane there hase to be a safety element to the problem. Remember where there is a blame possibly a claim to follow

I think residents of Fen Lane are waiting for any updates regarding the blocked drain being dealt with but to nothing has been forthcoming. The other day I watched with trepidation as a motorcyclist drove through the flowing water and slippy mud. I guess the worst scenarios will occur if there's a hard winter and it ices over.

This problem has been at “investigating” status for months. The issue has remained unresolved for years. Locals who need to use the road (with vehicles, cycling or on foot) ought to be able to get from A to B without putting themselves in such danger. Today I tried to walk to the shop at East Keal. The road was a continuous river of flowing water for a third of a mile!! As well as walking through water I had to negotiate slippery mud (in places 2cm deep) and piles of gravel/leaves/other debris being washed along by the water

As we have now had a lot of rain the road is like a stream. More tarmac has been washed away on either side of the lane for quite a long distance revealing in places the hard core underneath. It would be good to know if there are any plans to rectify the issue.
