Church Lane, West Keal

Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering less than half the road category anonymously at 20:38, Friday 9 May 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2843464.

Since summer 2024 water has been surfacing in Church Lane, it has been reported to Anglia Water there was a water meter situated in the lane at the site of the constant presence of water, even in dry weather. In April 2025 Anglia Water moved the meters from the lane to the verge but within 12 hours water was appearing where the meters had been located.

It was again reported to Anglia Water who sent engineers to investigate. They found that the water isn't from the main supply but is fresh, naturally occurring water related to the flow of ditch water which is piped along Church Lane.

Would you know how to proceed with solving this issue? I am at a loss to know how it can be resolved or who to seek help from. I expended considerable time and effort in getting Anglia Water to take action to move the meters. I think this issue could affect several households who have the piped ditch along their boundaries and all people who have to walk or drive to properties etc higher up the lane.

The location of the issue is easy to find, it is the only wet area with standing water in dry weather! It is in Church Lane at the end of the drive to Bell House.
