What3Words locations From ///cluttered.pinch.trips To ///publisher.bombshell.otters

Reported via desktop in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category by Emma MacPherson at 13:00, Friday 16 May 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2844040.

I think the photos says it all. Broken in places, an uneven surface, a chunk of wooden baton which is sticking up out of the ground (rather dangerous) and weeds growing through the footpath.

A disabled user was seen riding their mobility scooter on the road as the path is unusable.

Updated by Lincolnshire County Council at 10:51, Monday 19 May 2025

  • We're sending you this message to let you know that we've assessed the footway condition and at this time it does not require urgent repair. However we have identified this location for a larger scale improvement scheme. At this stage we are unable to give specific dates for this or definitely commit to the scheme because we prioritise these schemes based on condition compared with the rest of the County footway network and the resources available to us each year. We will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspections of the highway in the meantime. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • When is it considered urgent? Does someone have to break a leg?

I understand from another local resident that this was "repaired" recently. Are you going to go back to the contractor and demand that they do the job properly? This was not a satisfactory repair. Public money has effectively be wasted on this.

  • What a bodge job! Typical lincolnshire highways job I'm afraid. Keep at them and keep reporting/photographing for evidence. We deserve decent roads and safe footpaths, and proper jobs, not bodges. Total waste of our money
