Full lengths of High street

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2844094.

There is not a central line all the way down high street, I don't understand why? Having no central line may and does cause some motorists to come face to face with at each other in the middle of the road if they are not positioned on the correct side of the road. I've witnessed some near misses over the past few years of being a driving instructor and still don't really understand why there is no central line to encourage good road positioning.
