We’re sending you this message to let you know that a site visit was undertaken on 4 November 2025.
An officer spoke with the property owner and discussed the overall issue regarding the obstruction of the highway and the undertaking of works without LCC permission. It was noted that the works were not constructed to LCC specification and had not been carried out by approved contractors.
The officer advised the property owner of the location of the adopted highway boundary. The homeowner agreed to arrange for the removal of the obstruction from the highway as soon as possible. They also propose to install a small, low wall to clearly delineate the boundary of their property until they are able to fund more permanent improvement works to access their private driveway.
It should be noted that the site is located in a very rural area with minimal pedestrian activity. The property owner has been informed of potential liability issues should an incident occur.
Thank you for reporting this matter.
