The junction of the road from Dembleby where it meets the A52

Reported via mobile in the Visibility at junction or bend category by Jeremy jacobs at 10:22, Thu 19 June 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2847189.

Ref 2845348 The verge grass has been cut but not the bank grass and it is this grass that obscures visibility up the A52 when turning out of the Dembleby road heading towards Grantham. This continued to pose a significant safety risk for vehicles joining the A52 and I have personally nearly been hit twice! Please attend asap Thank you Jeremy Jacobs, The Barns, Dembleby

  • Thank you for your enquiry regarding visibility when turning out of the junction onto the A52. A Highways Officer has visited the location to assess the concerns raised. Following the inspection, it has been determined that the visibility at this junction is adequate for vehicles to safely join the A52 under current conditions. As such, no further action is considered necessary at this time. However, we will continue to monitor the area as part of our ongoing highways safety inspections. If you have any further concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • There has been another serious incident involving two cars due to the inadequate sight line from the junction towards Grantham. The blue Tesla pulled out and was hit by a Kia. All four people involved had to be taken to hospital, two being retained for treatment. Vehicles coming from Grantham on this 60 mph road simply do not have time to stop as can be seen in the first picture. The accident has a police and ambulance service report. It would help if LCC were to liaise with the land owner who is local to ensure that the grass is cut back as far as possible.

  • I live in Dembleby and have to contend with this junction on a frequent basis. It’s a nightmare as you can’t see 60mph traffic until it’s nearly on you.
