Bargate Roundabout, Boston
Reported via Android in the Road Markings category by Howard Charlton at 10:18, Sat 5 July 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2848725.
There are four large white arrows in the right hand lane approaching Bargate roundabout from Sibsey Rd that indicate ahead or right turn only. Every time I correctly manoeuvre from the left hand lane (with the left turn only arrows) into the outside lane on John Adams Way I am faced with the prospect of being hit by a driver turning left from the wrong lane in order to overtake traffic. The arrows are in need of repainting to make them clearer, but there is also signage, although seemingly neither are clear enough. Why is there no enforcement of the highway code over the incessant flouting of the law at this roundabout ? If only Lincs Road Partnership would issue warnings (with subsequent fines for repeat offending) with the same vigor they carry out entrapment for minor speeding offences. Perhaps then this potential for collisions could be alleviated & I would be less likely to be beeped by irate drivers who are demonstrably in the wrong when I'm the one who is in the right.
