Lincoln Road From the Junction of Church Street to Property No.24
Reported via desktop in the Damaged/missing paving slab category anonymously at 15:10, Mon 7 July 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2848903.
The Parish Council has requested this area be looked at and a proper footpath with kerbing be reinstated. We sent a request to our County Councillor on the 16th Aug 2024, as follows, We need a section of footpath looked at. It's on Lincoln Road (B1188) from the Church Street junction, heading north, to the playing field pedestrian entrance. On our recent village asset walk about it was brought to our attention that the footpath in this vicinity is in a extremely poor state of repair and it would benefit from kerbing and resurfacing to help protect pedestrians from the traffic on this busy stretch of road. Currently the footpath is a mixture of various concrete sections which are all breaking up and leaving it very uneven. In some areas it has disintegrated totally and is just rubble. As there is currently no kerbing at all and it looks like a road lay-by and it is currently used as one, so pedestrians can be faced with vehicles driving straight at them to park up. We would appreciate your support in trying to establish this route as a safe footpath, particularly as the children use it to access the playing field and use it as a route to the bus stops And we were informed on the 20th Aug 2024 that it had gone into the system for evaluation. We have chased our councillor regularly since and then received a message to say if we have concerns we should report it on fixmystreet. I have been asked by the council to report this section of footpath as nearly a year later it is still of great concern. We hope you have the opportunity to inspect it and hopefully work to improve it will be carried out very soon. Thank you.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. The site was visited on 15/07/25 and no intervention level defects were noted. However we have identified this location for a larger scale improvement scheme. At this stage we are unable to give specific dates for this or definitely commit to the scheme because we prioritise these schemes based on condition compared with the rest of the County footway network and the resources available to us each year. We will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspections of the highway in the meantime. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: No further action
