I have reported the drain problem before, but was told it was checked 6 months previously and there wasn’t a fault, which of course was incorrect as I wasn’t making it up. The drain next to our property feeds directly across the road into a ‘dyke’ between 2 residential properties. This dyke is not maintained and subsequently mud and roots block the pipe and the rain water sits on the roadside surface. When vehicles drive past our property, dirty smelly muddy water is splashed against our front door and into the house through letter box and under door. I have to park my car over the drain every time it rains for more than an hour to stop the surge of water against the door. However, yesterday one of the residents over the road dug down a metre and found the pipe and between us we have dug out a huge amount of mud and roots stretching about 4 metres to the edge of the road. It’s now loads better but when you pour a few buckets of water down the drain it still isn’t running through adequately. Please could you pump the drain to clear any mud, roots etc that are still in the pipe under the road. You will now be able to see if it’s working correctly as the other end is now clear of foliage, mud and debris for the first time in years. This area can now be maintained to finally clear a problem that has existed for years and that I have had to contact Lincs council on numerous occasions.
