Good afternoon I am sorry to bring this up again but the street is getting worse. As you can see from the attached that there’s an issue with people parking in our street (Maytime Close) and parking in the turn area. People are parking there for days from Tyne Close and other streets adjacent to Tyne Close. The other day we had a car come down with a caravan and they were going to leave it in our street, but they couldn’t because there was 6 cars parked there. The residents of Maytime Close are getting fed up with it. In the attached letter it states no one should park in the area for turning around. On top of that the highway maintenance vehicle is parking right to the end of the curb and there has been a couple of cars including mine were nearly hit with other cars because he’s parked at the end of the curb (between wintergold avenue and Maytime Close) because no one can see round him, he also parks his car either in front of his vehicle or behind and he walks through to Tyne close. The highway vehicle also stops me from using my mobility scooter as he sometimes parks up on the drop down pavement. Most of the residents in Maytime Close and Wintergold are fed up with them using our street as a shortcut. This is because they don’t want to drive all the way round to their street and they park in ours and walk through. We had a caravan last year that sat there for a week. The Refuse Wagon and an ambulance have had to reverse up the street because they couldn’t turn because of cars parked there. At Christmas the round table came round with their handover and sleigh and they had to unhitch the sleigh and move it by hand because of cars parked there. Most of the residents in Maytime Close are pensioners and when the ambulance arrived they couldn’t turn

Thank you for your report regarding parking concerns on Maytime Close, Spalding. At present, there are no parking restrictions (Traffic Regulation Orders) in place, meaning Lincolnshire County Council has limited enforcement powers in this location. If residents wish to see formal parking controls introduced, this will require the promotion of a new Traffic Regulation Order, which requires assessment by the Local Highways Manager and engagement with the local County Councillor, along with a formal consultation. Vehicles which are causing obstruction, such as parking on/blocking the payment or restricting visibility would be the responsibility of Lincolnshire Police. We have made the local County Councillor aware and should changes be supported we will follow our internal processes. Thank you for reporting this matter.
State changed to: No further action
