Over hanging trees restricting paths and being hit by vehicles

Reported via mobile in the Hanging tree or branch category anonymously at 14:22, Wed 23 July 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2850518.

For about a week there are a number of overhanging trees along Dunholme Rd and Main Street which restrict motorists view of a particularly challenging junction. The branches are also causing problems for pedestrians, limiting access on the path so having to walk on the road to avoid them and the trees are also now being hit by tractors and HGVs causing debris which is covering the roads and paths which is also blocking the drains. The drain on the opposite carriageway close to the junction of Thorne Lane is now completely blocked with branches/leaves etc thank you

  • Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

  • No one has been out to fix this, farm vehicles and high sided vehicles continue to strike the over hanging trees which cause hazard to pedestrians and leave large branches on the highway. I have cut some of the lower branches back but pedestrians are still impeded and have to duck or walk in the road to avoid the trees and branches. We need professional equipment to cut the branches and remove them as it continues to be a hazard to all plus it obscures the road ahead on the approach to an already dangerous junction where Dunholme Rd and Main St meet the Nettleham Rd T junction.

  • All done! The work’s finished and the issue is now resolved. Thank you for contacting us about this. Your report has meant that we can focus our effort where it’s needed most.

    State changed to: Fixed

  • Hi I assume the update to say fixed has been incorrectly generated? As you can see the drain is still completely blocked and other than the trimming back I’ve had to do over the footpaths no one has been out to cut the higher branches as you can see.
