Barlings Lane near the junction with the A158, Langworth

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category by Councillor Mike Herbert at 13:41, Mon 28 July 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2850948.

Recently had the road resurfaced and were told that road markings would be replaced. It seems that noone took notice of where those previous markings were placed. These double yellow lines extended further either side of Barlings Lane towards St Hughs Close. Agreement was made between the Parish Council and LCC that this should be done so as to overcome persistent problems with vehicles parking close to the jcn and where the road narrows. Large vehicles (many agricultural ones) where mounting the kerb and driving along the footpath to get past.

  • Its now been 3 months without an update and I assume that you have now forgotten about the issue. The problems of people parking too close to the junction is causing traffic problems backing them up into the A158. Vehicles occasionally cannot access Barlings lane from the main road because of parked vehicles and vehicles queueing to get onto the main road. This was the original problems and was largely overcome when the yellow lines were extended down to St Hugh's Drive and Barlings Close. I'm unsure why LCC Highways has now made changes when a solution was agreed before and worked well.
