Near no.68 Grandfield Way

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2851224.

During heavy rain the manhole cover lifts off and moves to the side, with water from the drain spilling out onto the road

The manhole cover is damaged and the screws holding it in place are missing

I think the manhole is part of the surface water drainage system for the whole of Grandfield Way, and discharges into the open ditch in the field behind

  • Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

    We’re sending you this message to let you know that following our inspection, we can confirm that the manhole in question is not part of Lincolnshire County Council’s drainage system, nor is it located on an area of adopted highway. As such, this issue does not fall under the responsibility of Lincolnshire County Council. Please see attached map showing LCC assets. Black dots are LCC owned manhole covers and the area in blue is adopted highway. The manhole cover outside number 68 is not part of LCC owned drainage system, these type of lids could be individual to each property. We recommend that you contact the property developers directly, as they are could still be responsible for the installation and ongoing maintenance of this drainage infrastructure.
