Back Lane, Heighington

Reported via mobile in the Hanging tree or branch category anonymously at 14:35, Fri 1 August 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2851427.

Very large tree is significantly overhanging the property boundary of 21 Back Lane, Heighington. This causes two problems specifically: 1) Large portions of the tree are hanging low over the driveway, I am concerned any additional weight on these large branches could cause them to snap and fall on the property, a car, or one of the occupants of the address. 2) There are many pigeons in the tree, which are continually causing large amounts of droppings on the property and ground area, which can be toxic, this is a big problem especially with a 2 year old, or any other children in the area, who don’t always understand the harm this can cause when trying to enjoy time and play in the garden or around the area.

  • In this instance we don’t intend on taking immediate action. Because our current resources are extremely limited we have to focus our enforcement on matters of a significant danger or nuisance to road users. You can legally trim branches that encroach over your property boundary as long as this isn't decremental to the tree's health and safety moving forward. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
