Reported via desktop in the Fallen tree or branch category anonymously at 17:50, Wed 6 August 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2851876.

This is a large tree, which had a main trunk and three large branches. One branch fell around four years ago onto my property,,and a second large branch which was growing parallel to my boundary came down yesterday evening. It is not obstructing the highway however, having fallen again across my property. My immediate concern relates to the third very large branch which completely overhangs the A46, just after the blind corner. I believe the tree lies within the highway verge, and presents a potential danger to traffic, but I would welcome a site meeting to agree its position, and consider what if any action is required. .

  • Since my initial report, my neighbour has cleared much of the fallen branches etc, so that I can now see all round the tree. Looking at the rear of the tree, accessible only from my garden, it appears that the whole tree is beginning to fall forward, which will be more of a risk now that the counterbalancing rear branch (fell three or four years ago) and now the huge side branch have both fallen. If you will let me know when the site visit is planned I will be able to take you inspector onto my land to consider the issue fully.
