Please see attached photos. 2-3 weeks ago a utilities company carried out deep excavation works which included digging up the small red pavers which form the main road section. Instead of replacing these on completion, they have just filled the area with black tarmac. It is my understanding that they are contractually obliged to replace and match the repair to the area removed. This has not been done. Please can you ensure that the company on question returns to the site and puts the surface back using the correct matching tiles. It is a shame details like these aren't being adhered to, when WLDC are spending so much money improving the area. I wonder if maybe a process should be in place to check the making good works carried out by contractors, so that the area is maintained in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

  • Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

  • We’re sending you this message to let you know that this has been registered as a temporary reinstatement by Anglian Water and they will be replacing the temporary tarmac with the original material in due course. We have a site meeting planned to discuss this with them planned in. Thank you for reporting this matter.
