Investigating
Goosegate Lane, Foston, NG32 2LB
Reported via desktop in the Problem at LCC roadworks category by Tracey Gardner at 15:51, Friday 29 August 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2853998.
Road Closure Reference: TTRO/TTR012829
I would be grateful if LCC Highways could stop acting like some secret society and communicate with their customers instead of ploughing their own furrow without any consultation with the Parish Council and the local residents who will be affected by our proposed works.
The road closure notice for Goosegate Lane lists, drainage, tree/vegetation/ditch clearance & trial holes Is it too much to ask what exactly you are planning to do and to what end?
What does "drainage" mean/cover? What are these trial holes that you intend digging, where will they be located and for what purpose?
Would it be too much to ask, to have the person masterminding whatever scheme that you have in mind, to attend the next Foston Parish Council meeting on 2nd September 2025 to give a presentation about what they are proposing to do and why?
Finally the road closure notice talks in grand terms of "Diversion routes and vehicular or pedestrian access arrangements will be signposted" My elderly partner is unable to walk any distance, so I am at a loss as to what she is to do if she wants/needs to go out during the period of this closure. We are the last property on Goosegate Lane and I am at a loss to understand what pedestrian diversions you believe will be available?
Many thanks
Tracey Gardner Foston Parish Councillor and Goosegate Lane resident
