• Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

• This is getting worse by the day. Almost to the point of cars grounding out, such are the low points in the road. The drop must be 30-40 cms in three or four places, from the middle if the road to the edge. Made worse with heavy HGV using the road as a cut-through from the A153 to the B1189 into Lincoln.

• We’re sending you this message to let you know that Lincolnshire County Council aware of the condition of the carriageway and at this time it does not require urgent repair. However we have identified this location for a larger scale improvement scheme and requested our Asset Team to reassess this location. At this stage we are unable to give specific dates for this or definitely commit to the scheme because we prioritise these schemes based on condition compared with the rest of the County road network and the resources available to us each year. We will continue to monitor this location as part of our routine inspections of the highway in the meantime. Thank you for reporting this matter.

• To whom it may concern,

  So when my car “bottoms out” coming out of the valleys created by the road collapsing to the left.

  Can I then send my repair costs to LCC to recompense me for my damage and loss?

  Currently, unless a vehicle is coming the other way, ‘everyone” drives on the opposite side of the road to avoid this.

  Please bring along any expensive council vehicle and experience the potential for damage, or even the danger of being thrown off the road into the hedgerow as the camber is at such an angle !!!

  On what is a B road, the effect speed is now reduced to a crawl at best. The road is becoming worse week by week as HGVs use this road as access from the A153 onto the B1189 to Lincoln as they avoid the village turn over the dyke bridge and narrow width restrictions through old Billinghay.

  This isn’t a rant, I’m just trying to avoid someone having a serious RTA in the very near future.

• This road is now seriously unfit to be open. It requires an immediate 20mph limit and then repair before lives are lost. Certainly not fit to drive on in the dark so floodlights should be set up on the stretch between the Skirth bridge and Ruskington Fen junction.

• We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report. This road is inspected regularly in line with timescales set out in our Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan and any defects/issues that are deemed unsafe are repaired in line with our plan.
