Reported via mobile in the Standing water covering less than half the road category anonymously at 00:00, Thu 4 September 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2854559.

There was a pot hole on the road that was recently repaired - unfortunately only 90% of the pot hole was corrected for whatever reason 10% was left unresolved. The pooling of this water is going to keep degrading the road and causing issues with potholes. There is no drain here. There are also potholes in the path also shown in the image with pooling water.

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because an officer had visited the site as per description/photograph not as pinpointed on map. See attached photograph. No surface water at location. Gullies in the vicinity appear to be working, if this issue deteriorates significantly please report again. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • It would appear an officer attended the pinpoint when it was dry and not raining as I can assure you that there is standing water when it does rain. The photo you have attached is not representative of the state of play during the rain, or dare I say, potential flooding times. In all honesty I think the officer you have sent out has not only wasted time but also wasted tax payers money as I would assume that they posses the knowledge that rain creates puddles therefore in the absence of rain no puddles will be observed.

I will reiterate that at the pinpointed area water collects on the road and on the path when it rain where it remains until it evaporates. This is because it is an adverse camber and the water does not flow into the drain that is close by. This is causing destruction to both the road and path surface, also making it impassable on foot unless you’re wearing wellingtons.

Please see attached photos from Sunday, the presence of the ducks should confirm to the investigating officer that there is an issue here.

  • We’re sending you this message to let you know that we've inspected and acknowledge that this gully/system is blocked, but because it is not causing a serious highway safety or property flooding issue we will not be ordering work at this time. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action

  • I acknowledge that it is not posing imminent threat to properties right now however it does impact residents during flooding times. For example a number of residents around this area had to leave their homes for many months after suffering flooding in 2024. Although this was not the cause of the flood this is a contributing factor that further exacerbated the rise in water.

Do you know when you will be looking at this issue because you have acknowledged the issue but closed the case? Are you simply telling me that it will never be rectified?
