Flooding on BOTH sides of Lincoln Road (A57) near Saxilby

Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering less than half the road category anonymously at 13:54, Fri 5 September 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2854816.

The carriageway drain opposite 4 Lincoln Road, LN1 2NF was overwhelmed during heavy rain on 04-Sep-2025 as the adjacent drains are silted up, despite being pumped out by a cleaning tanker in July 2024.

The water drained after about half an hour, during which time many vehicles appeared to be aquaplaning along the A57 near the junction with Mill Lane.

Updated by Lincolnshire County Council at 14:07, Fri 5 September 2025

  • We’re sending you this message to let you know that the County has received a large amount of rainfall in a short space of time and as such we are having to prioritise flooding sites which pose a risk to life or significant risk of internal flooding. It’s worth noting that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains can become overwhelmed and at the moment gullies may not be able to drain away into watercourses and sewers which are at capacity or backing up. Should you feel your property is at risk your first action should be to contact the emergency services who will assess the situation and act accordingly. Whilst the report does indicate property flooding we do need further information before a more detailed investigation can take place. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action

  • Changing the report status to "No further action" does NOT resolve the problem.

Please reset the report status to OUTSTANDING until the problem HAS actually been fixed.
