The pedestrian bridge from the NKDC area to the Sleaford Leisure Centre on Eastbanks, Sleaford

Reported via desktop in the Bridge or Structure category anonymously at 11:58, Friday 12 September 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2855471.

The wooden bridge handrails are now in a state of decay and there is a need to apply a light mould remover and then a woodstain to preserve them. The wooden board facade around the arch itself, lower down in beginning to also fray but it is in better condition. I have the ability to work on the handrails myself but would need permission. It would involve trimming a buddlea bush on one side, using a clear vinegar to clean it and remove mould, and then a dark brown Johnstones wood stain. If it is not done before the BST ends it may need to be completely redone with new wood, as it has already been left and then repaired with a resin. I am not a professional joiner but know how to do the basics. Please confirm by email. Thank you.
