Flooding continues to be a major problem towards the bottom of magpie close, every time it rains the drains fill up and overflow and has come centimetres from flooding residents bungalows. Something must be done about this as it’s only a matter of time before residents are flooded out of their homes. There must be a collapsed sewage main or a blockage. This isn’t the only storm sewer problem on this estate so it may need to be looked as as a whole area. Please can LCC look into this matter as a matter of urgency

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

We are sorry we are not taking any further action on this enquiry. An officer has attended the reported location and no immediate concerns were noted with the mentioned drainage assets. Our cyclical team attended this area in May this year and noted that the system was operational once their works had been completed. It’s worth noting that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains such as these can be overwhelmed. If any major flooding does occur then please report this issue to us again and we will investigate further. Thank you for reporting this matter.
