Blacksmith cottage side street Allington
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2857830.
Residents are complaining to the Parish Council about a tree overhanging the pavement on Side Street. The tree comes from an empty house ( been empty for a long time) and this is causing residents to slip and fall on the droppong leaves and fruit. One resident emailed this to me which sounds a very nasty incident:
"About 2 1/2 weeks ago, I was walking past the cottage, slipped on dropped fruit and was only saved from falling as I was using Nordic walking poles.
However, I have had 2 new knees in the past year. It jarred the 4 month old one and twisted the other which, at the time, was completely recovered.
Unfortunately the recovered knee is now causing big problems and I have an appointment to see the professor who operated. This will mean a journey to Exeter where I elected to have the surgery."
Please could someone come and investigate this tree and cut back where necessary to avoid any further such incidents which may result in legal claims.

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.
