Near Hall Wood, Authorpe

Reported via desktop in the Bridge category anonymously at 18:24, Wed 22 October 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2859212.

I would like to report a defective footbridge over a stream near Hall Wood in Authorpe. The footpath leading to the bridge is accessed off of the Aby Road about 1/4 mile up from the road junction next to Station Farm.

Over the past few months, the bridge has become 'bouncy' and seems to be dropping to one side. The timber handrails are also becoming quite

I would ask that the Condition of the bridge be looked at as soon as possible.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for other bridge renewals that you have arranged in the Authorpe area.

Yours sincerely

  • In addition to info provided by the earlier report. The wire mesh is lifting from the bridge foot way and is a trip hazard. The structure supporting the footbridge seems to be weak or collapsing. Please prioritise an assessment before it collapses fully. Thank you.

  • LCC have removed the bridge and closed the PROW. A replacement is unlikely before next financial year due to lack of funds.
